前坦克部队退伍兵王大富（陈佩斯 饰）白手起家，辛苦创业，打造出集健身娱乐于一体的“普罗米修斯”健身康乐城。事业小有成就的他婚姻生活却红灯高照，他恋上自己的女秘书朱颖（吴辰君 饰），只可惜落花有意，流水无情。大富此前投入大笔资金和精力开发健身马，与此同时，朱颖的哥哥朱明（温兆伦 饰）也打算开发出比健身马功能更多的健身牛。苦于资金短缺，朱明拜托妹妹假借“胡彬”的名义向大富借钱。为了赢得美人放心，大富慷慨掏出五十万。 不久，一纸坦克预备役训练的通知到来，大富和朱明不得不放下手中的事务来到部队，在魔鬼教官老赵（李琦 饰）的呵斥下拼命训练。健身器材攻关在即，两人瞅准一切机会与外界联系，更稀里糊涂地为对方支招，由此闹出一连串的笑话……
